Dr. Hodgson is one of the most highly respected Geologists and teachers of geology in the world. As professor of Economic Geology at Queens University he was mentor to several generations of influential geologists,including our Co-CEO Dr. Lawrence Dick.

Jay recently retired as the Chief Geologist, Exploration for Barrick Gold Corporation. He was responsible for QA/QC on all geological aspects of exploration work world wide, field evaluation of Barrick�s exploration properties and gold deposits, and geological evaluation of investment opportunities.

He began his career in the 1960�s with Rio Tinto, Anaconda and Amax. He has consulted for 32 mining companies and government agencies around the world. Jay is the author of over 150 scientific publications and is the recipient of the 1995 Duncan R. Derry Medal awarded by the Mineral Deposits Section of the Geological Association of Canada for "outstanding contributions to the science of economic geology in Canada" and the 1996 A. O. Dufresne Award of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for "outstanding contributions to economic geology and the minerals industry over the last 20 years, particularly with regard to greenstone gold and volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits".
